This week QNG will premiere three new pieces! In the moment we are working hard on getting them ready for the great moments, when they are first performed during concerts at the BKA Theater (Unerhörte Musik) in Berlin and the Aspekte Festival in Salzburg. We are happy to announce the pieces “…ent-gleitend… (Nach-ruf)” by Georg Friedrich Haas, “Zug ins Gelobte” by Eva Reiter und “Pessel” by Yoav Pasovsky. We hope to see many of you at one of our concerts!! Look in our agenda for details!
QNG recently performed a concert during the Austrian ERTA conference at castle Weinberg/Kefermarkt. Watch Paul Moravec´s “Mortal Flesh”. Many thanks to Petra Wurz, who played as a substitute for Hannah.
Important: Broadcasting on Arte.tv is on May 11th (or actually 12th) between 0.10 and 1.10 am!! You also can watch the repetition on May 13th (5.00-6.00 am) or May 16th (3.55-5.00 am). Be there or watch the show online until one week after its broadcasting.
QNG performed at the „ARTE Lounge“ among many famous guests like Rufus Wainwright, German Reggae musician Gentleman and Sitar player Anoushka Shankar. We played excerps from “Wicked” by Michiel Mensingh and “Airlines” by Woijtek Blecharz. Maurice Steger was a guest too and we had a lot of fun improvising variations upon “La Follia” as a musical ground for a Rap by the ArteLounge mascot Mr. Maloke.
Arte TV is presenting classic stars, classic music-acts and interesting conversations off the conventional classic-stage. The Berlin Techno-Club „Maria am Ostbahnhof“ hosted the show on 30th March, which was presented by the Soul singer Oceana, pianist Andreas Kern and DJ Canisius.
MANY THANKS to Anna Petrini, who performed as a substitute for Hannah last minute and went through this great adventure with us!!
We made it! After one week of waiting in Europe for possible flights over the ocean we finally could start our US tour! Unfortunately we had to cancel our concert at the Russell Library in Middletown/CT. We thank the Middletown presenter for his understanding and are very happy that he booked us for next year already! Check our agenda for details about our concerts.
Due to the Icelandic vulcano activity and the difficult flight situation we had to change the date of our concert in Stockton University/California, but we are very happy to inform you that we finally will perform there on Wednesday, 28th April at 7.30pm. Thanks to the understanding and the flexibility of the presenter Friends of Chamber Music Stockton.
We thank Austrian recorder player Petra Wurz (substituting Hannah), who experiences this rather crazy time together with much patience and humour.
Hannah is expecting the first “QNG-baby”! We congratulate her and wish her the best for the time of pregnancy and birth!
For her time-out from performing with QNG we found a great substitute and would like to introduce Eva Gemeinhardt, a recorder player from Passau:
