Am kommenden Dienstag, dem 24. Januar, wird QNG in zwei außergewöhnlichen Konzerten während des “Ultraschall Festivals” in Berlin zu hören sein. Aufführungsort ist das Musikinstrumentenmusem, in dem um 15.00 ein von Margarete Zander moderiertes Konzert für Kinder stattfinden wird. Im Abendkonzert um 20.00 werden dann weitere spannende zeitgenössische Werke, darunter drei Uraufführungen, erklingen. Die in Berlin wohnhaften Komponistinnen Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandri und Alexandra Filonenko widmen ihre neuen Kompositionen dem Ensemble. Mit Erlaubnis der Komponistin hat QNG das Flötenquartett von Sofia Gubaidulina für Blockflötenquartett eingerichtet, welches ebenfalls erstmals zu hören ist. Weiters stehen Werke von Georg Friedrich Haas, Mathias Spahlinger und Fulvio Caldini auf dem Programm. All das verspricht einen absolut spannenden Abend!
Die erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit von QNG und der griechischen Komponistin Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandri konnte kürzlich erfolgreich fortgesetzt werden. Nach dem 2003 entstandenen Werk “Still Life” wurde eine neue Komposition von QNG in Auftrag gegeben. Der Berliner Senat förderte freundlicherweise diesen Kompositionsauftrag. Die Uraufführung von “Untitled IV (atemlos)” wird am 24. Januar beim Ultraschallfestival in Berlin zu hören sein. Einen kurzen Eindruck wollen wir euch aber nicht vorenthalten:

Tours:
Our concerts and trips took us around the globe, e.g. the U.S., Aserbaidschan, Armenia,Georgia, Czech Republic and of course through Germany. Next to travelling and teaching we put all our energy into our new CD project, which was recorded in Nurenberg together with the Bayerische Rundfunk and will be released in summer 2012 by the German label GENUIN. This record was inspired by strict composition forms as well as the composers' fantasy to fill or break these given frame works. The arrangement of „Parterre“ by the American composer Mary Ellen Childs, which we premiered at the Southern Theatre in Minneapolis in April 2011, is featured on this album as well.
Upcoming dates:
2012 is going to be a very intriguing year especially when it comes to premieres and collaborations. Among others there will be new pieces written by Alexandra Filonenko, Sofia Gubaidulina, Yotam Haber, Mauro Montalbetti, Paul Moravec, Johannes Motschmann, Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandri and Qin Yi.
The year will start out with two concerts at the renowned ULTRASCHALL festivalin Berlin at 24th of January. In April we will introduce the festive program “Blaze of Glory” to our U.S. audience together with the unique CALMUS Ensemble from Leipzig. Furthermore we will premiere a new work written by the American composer Yotam Haber together with the amazing JACK Quartet at the MATA festival in New York.

Mit seinem Weihnachtsprogramm “In Deep Silence” trat QNG am 3 Adventsonntag in Reutlingen auf. Mehr als 350 Zuhörer pilgerten in die große Friedrich-List-Halle. Dabei kam man nicht nur in den Hörgenuss von Musik der Komponisten Hendrickx, Dowland, Caldini, Praetorius, Bach, Guimaraes und Hirose; dazwischen gestreut wurden auch kurze weihnachtliche literarische “Leckereien”. Am 2. November um 22:00 UHR ist QNG in der Sendung musica nova des “Freien Radios Stuttgart” zu hören. Neben QNG wird Neue Musik für Flöte und Fagott vorgestellt. musica nova ist eine Sendung der Redaktion JazzFunkt. Die Redaktion Jazz funkt hat sich zusammengefunden, um ein Programm zeitgenössischer und jazzorientierter Musik zu erarbeiten, die in bestehenden Radioprogrammen fehlt oder unterrepräsentiert ist. Empfangen kann man diese Sendung auf 99,2 MHz und 102,1 MHz auf Kabel oder im Internet.
